The new festival finale – join in the fun!
For the first time ever, the European Brass Band Festival’s motto is: Everyone joins in!
Before we make music together, we’ll enjoy a proper morning pint with our audience and the participating orchestras. After that, the area in front of the blue stage will become the festival’s largest joint wind orchestra: on Sunday 20 September 2026 at 3.45 pm, almost all the orchestras will be there – and any musician who brings their own instrument can join in.
Tuba, trombone, trumpet, clarinet, flute, saxophone or any other instrument (see list below): no matter where you’re from or which orchestra you play in – the only thing that matters here is the sound we make together. Together, we’ll bring Aue-Bad Schlema to life with music and unite many orchestras into a single musical ensemble.
Fancy joining in? In that case, as a musician with your own instrument, you’ll only pay 10 euros admission. Tickets are available exclusively at the box office on the day, as they’ll carry out a quick check there to see if you’ve brought your instrument with you. You can get the sheet music there too. Here’s how to take part
- Please be at the Blue Stage by 3.30 pm at the latest – you’re welcome to arrive earlier to catch the other orchestras’ concerts live and enjoy the festival Sunday
- From around 3.40 pm, we will be briefing all the orchestras and participating musicians on site.
- We play the pieces exactly as they appear in the respective scores – that is, with the specified tempos, dynamics, articulations and repetitions, as well as da capo, coda and all other performance instructions.
