Orchester Sarvar

The city of Sárvár which is located between Vienna and Lake Balaton has been home to a wind band since 1910. The history of the current, modern formation goes back to 1971. Back then, conductor János Pernecker formed the town band out of musicians from old bands and students of the music school. They constantly developed and were able to celebrate successes nationally and internationally.

Since 2005 the current ensemble has been under the leadership of Kapellmeister Attila Szélesi. The band won 2nd place at the MID-Europe Festival in the Austrian town Schladming in 2007, and in 2016 the band earned a special golden certification in the highest category of the Hungarian band certification system.
