Our headliner on Saturday evening. The brass band from Leipzig. The music of Dr Donner ‘is like the discharge of a thunderstorm on a sultry summer’s day’, as the band describes it on their homepage.

The musicians may not have a doctorate, but they have the recipe for bringing ‘medicine for the soul’ to the stage. They combine traditional brass band elements with modern influences, resulting in an unmistakable sound that delights both young and old. Their music is a mixture of different genres, including jazz, funk and pop. They manage to captivate the audience with their energetic performances.

The young brass band from Leipzig brings the music of New Orleans to Germany. Rooted in traditional rhythms and a playful approach to popular pop songs, ‘Der Dr.’ is a modern nod to the African-American roots of jazz.
